Chiều Chúa Nhật đã đến giờ đi lễ, John biết vợ và các con đang ngồi chờ ngoài xe, nhưng trận đấu football trên TV đang gay cấn, quá hấp dẫn, John liền bấm cell phone nói với vợ: “Anh đang bận, em và các con đi trước đi, anh sẽ đi sau!” Thánh Lễ vừa kết thúc, thằng An hỏi mẹ nó: “Bố đâu rồi hả mẹ?” Hỏi cho có thôi, chứ nó biết tỏng tòng tong: “Bố nó yêu football hết lòng, hết linh hồn và hết trí khôn và đặt football lên trên cả Thiên Chúa.”

Vợ chồng Helen mở một nhà hàng, ngày khai trương thật là tưng bừng, vui như hội, có cha sở tới làm phép đàng hoàng, bức ảnh Thánh Tâm Chúa Giêsu rất đẹp được treo ngay nơi trang trọng và dễ nhìn thấy nhất. Nhưng chỉ vài tháng sau, bức ảnh Thánh Tâm Chúa Giêsu được đem về nhà để khỏi bị ám mùi đồ ăn. Mấy ngày sau, người ta thấy có tượng…thần tài ngồi ở góc nhà lúc nào cũng mỉm cười, lại có ly café sữa, và một dĩa trái cây ở bên cạnh. Thì ra, có người mách cho Hellen rằng, thần tài sẽ đem lại cho nhà hàng nhiều khách hàng và nhiều may mắn hơn là…Chúa!
