Là những người hiền lành, dễ thương, thánh thiện, đạo đức và nhân từ như Cha trên Trời là Đấng nhân từ chăng? Không có đâu Tám ơi! Ngược lại là đàng khác. Bạn không tin cứ mở sách Phúc Âm ra mà đọc thì sẽ thấy, các Tông Đồ, là những Giáo Hoàng, và những Giám Mục tiên khởi của Giáo Hội Công Giáo, chả có ai ra nàm thao cả! Ví dụ như ông Phêrô, một người nóng nảy, bộp chộp, cứng lòng tin, độc đoán, nhát như cáy, và giỏi nói dóc! Và cụ thể là Gia-cô-bê và Gio-an, mà thánh Luca tường thuật trong bài Tin Mừng của Chúa Nhật hôm nay. Hai ông là những người nóng nảy, hung hăng kiểu tụi khủng bố ISIS, đòi khiến lửa từ trời xuống thiêu huỷ [toàn bộ dân làng thành Sa-ma-ri] chỉ vì họ đã cả gan từ chối đón tiếp Chúa Giêsu, không cho Ngài đi ngang qua lãnh thổ của họ.

Disciples of Jesus Christ are the people who are gentle, kind, upright, virtuous, and merciful, just as [also] your Father is merciful? Clearly not! It’s the other way around. For instance, Peter could be quick-tempered, irritable, and assertive, and sometimes timid and boastful! James and John too, which Luke reports in this Sunday’s Gospel. Their are hot-tempered and aggressive just as the ISIS terrorists, they asked: Lord, do you want us to call down fire from heaven to consume [the Samaritan village] simply because they would not welcome Jesus, and did not allow Him to pass through their territory.
